Blending tutorial in Photoshop
Blends are cool, they make great layout but I tend to do a lot of them for contests more.  In this tutorial I will teach you how to blend pictures together easily and when you have done this tutorial the gradient one is a good one for making it look even better!

1) I am going to take these two pictures in this tutorial

Ok so copy the top picture, then go open up photoshop and click on File > New and click ok as the size will automatically be there, then click CTRL+V or Edit > Paste

2) Then copy the second picture and paste again, it should appear on a new layer, arrange them how you like.  Then make sure you have all your toolboxes, click on Window > Workspace > Reset Palette Locations.  In the layer palette there is a small icon with a little circle in, this is to add a new mask, click on it but make sure you have the top layer selected first.

3) Click on the gradient tool do this by keeping your mouse down on the fill tool and selecting this tool then make sure that you select the black and white gradient

4) Now drag it in the middle of the image like in the picture below, it will make it slightly see through so that you can see what you need to erase.

5) CLick on the eraser tool and set it to a soft brush around size 100 or whatever you feel comfortable with, then carefully erase the bits that cover the bottom layer.  Do not worry if you erase the wrong bit, as it is on a layer mask using a white brush will restore areas.  I also used the eraser on bits of the bottom layer and then made a new layer underneath the other ones and filled it the same colour as the other pictures background, here's how it turned out.

Want to make it look like this picture below? go to the gradient and scanlines tutorials.
