Blending tutorial in Photoshop

This is carrying on from the blending tutorial, in the end we will get an image like this. First we start with this image 1) Create a new layer above the layer with the picture on.  Then click on the gradient tool do this by keeping your mouse down on the fill tool and selecting this tool .  Select a nice gradient, then drag it across the picture, the longer you drag it, the more spread out the gradient and the less colours. 2) In the layer palette change the drop down box from normal to something else, color, soft light, overlay are good ones to choose, have a play about and see what you like! This one is using the soft light effect! The scanline effect is also used.
